1. Jao Tsung-i, one of the most famous Chinese study scholars in 20th century and artist (Forward of Liping Zheng Collected Painting II, Hong Kong, 2000)

There are few nowadays who has achieved as much as Liping in the creation of art.
His brush stroke is sharp, vigorous and determined, which fully reflects his passion. He, in his own style, is bravely marching in the big-sense-writing direction like Huang Binhong and Pan Tianshou. What he has achieved is significant and profound although it would not be easily understood by someone who had not enough traditional culture background. The fact that he successfully ignores something in figuration and stick in his sense-writing is because of his unique accomplishment in Chinese culture background.

Mr. Zheng views our Mother Nature with his sharp and sensitive contemporary vision. He vividly expresses his feeling through his brush based on his sharp observation of the world. His painting is full of uplifting vigor and passionate verve. His art journey is overwhelmingly creative and this is a breakthrough to the Chinese painting circle.

Whatever Liping achieved in his creations is because of his confidence and insistence in the pursuance of art.

Liping’s painting enjoys three-dimensional richness and divine sense with his supernatural use of brush and ink. His wonderful achievement in navigating his art between figuration and abstraction is because of his fervent love to our Mother Nature. He focuses on expressing himself in calligraphic method with abstract charm and poetic elegance. Whatever he painted, either flower, plant of the Southern China or scenery abroad, he successfully sucks nutrition from those historic masters without being constrained to the existing rule and style.  He has successfully mastered the essence of Wu Chansuo and Huang Binhong and melted his art with his unique sense and sharp observation of the Mother Nature. His feeling flies freely and sensitively with what he observes. He expresses his feelings and aspirations with his accomplished skill of brush and ink. What he has achieved is always far beyond a figuration or a formatted layout, which is the essence of sense-writing. As a matter of fact, his painting is not only rich with rugged charm, but vivid and passionate, which brings viewers into a kingdom of spring breeze, autumnal gorgeousness, sunny passion and clean moon light. By experiencing the clean world of his art and tasting its poetic morality, his paintings bring viewers above all material desires and purify one’s spirit.

4. Lu Muxun, famous Chinese painter (Rong Bao Zhai 5th 2005)

From Liping’s paintings, we know definitely that the way he handles brush is extremely determined. The line is rich, deep, vivid and full of the charm of Chinese calligraphy.  We can attribute this achievement to his successful study of Wu Changshuo and Huang Binhong in his early years. He is extremely successful in handling the brush and ink.  The most profound point is that he use his skill not only as a measure to create something figuration, but a vehicle to express his passion and his fervent love to the world. This is the real essence of sense-writing.

5. Li Zhaodong, famous Chinese painter, (forward of A Passionate World, 2012)

Liping’s painting is a casual, pleasant and a true expression of his feeling to the world. He paints with his passionate heart. His style is straight forward. I am one of the admirers of his art. So far, many authoritative scholars and artists in the circle have highly appreciated his art with serious publications nationwide. I am afraid that if I comment his painting as a magic charm, one will definitely say that there is nothing new now because this consensus has been in fashion since 1990’s.
